Uruguay. November 21 is the World Television Day declared by the UN and to commemorate it, that day will begin digital television broadcasts in Uruguay, but in 2015.
According to the information released by the Minister of Industry of this country, Edgardo Ortuño, setting this date for digital television under the ISDB-T model will mean hard work in the coming months with all the actors in the industry.
It should be remembered that this date is an adjustment that is made in Uruguay to the time limit for the transition from analog to digital television, because at the end of 2010 the government of that country changed the model it had selected three years ago, based on the European standard, to accommodate the ISDB-T like the rest of the neighbors of the region, with the exception of Colombia, which remained the only one with this model.
This pronouncement was made within the framework of the VI International Forum of the ISDB-T, the norm adopted by all the countries of the region and which was held in Montevideo this week.
