Central America. The technical seminars for professionals in the broadcast industry that the Harris company has been conducting in Latin America arrived during the month of November in Central America.
In both countries, the seminars were supported by the Itel Central America group, through its subsidiaries. The case of Guatemala was supported by the local company Empresa de Ingenieros Guatemaltecos, EIG. In Nicaragua, it was the Telssa company.
As lectures, on the part of Harris were Eutdel García, who spoke about processing, routers, servers, multiviewers, master control, graphics, editors, instrumentation and measurement, loudness control, quality control for television studios. For his part, Carlos Lira presented the standards and structure of ISDB-Tb.
The company took advantage of the seminar to launch its products in each country, such as the Versio, Selenium and Mam platforms, as well as the PORTFOLIO of ULX, UAX, VLX and VAX transmitters. José Raúl Gómez and Carlos Durando, both directors of the company, participated on behalf of the Itel Central America group.
During the day, Carlos Durando stressed that "In Central America the digitization of television is behind the rest of the world. It is convenient that the regulatory entities formalize as soon as possible the standards that will govern in our countries, preferably in a homogeneous way throughout the region. Likewise, it is advisable for companies in the sector to plan the migration of their studies to digital technology in the short term, which does not depend on the standard that is adopted".
