Argentina. A proposal that links information directly from the players and that joins with the partial results of the sports meetings that are broadcast on television, was the winner of the first Tecnogol Challenge, organized by the company Datafactory and the authorities of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The application they presented consists of a mechanism in which the statistics generated by DataFactory are complemented by the information provided by a small GPS placed on the sleeve of each player's shirt, through which all the movements and actions of the protagonists can be monitored from a database .
Blas Rodríguez and Andrés Mechali were the winners for their proposal, of which the organizers of the contest highlighted the idea has the possibility of application, originality and innovation with respect to the tools traditionally used within the sector. For their part, Matías Calderazzi and Lautaro Franccini achieved second place and were awarded with work internships at DataFactory.
Those in charge of choosing the best proposals were Fabián Minotto, Head of New Media Content at TyC Sports, Alejo Vetere, Editor of Canchallena.com, Alejandro Llado, Digital Content Coordinator at Uno-Medios y Multimedios América, Claudio Coronel, Director of Online Content for Fox Sports Latinoamérica and Sergio Ruiz, Head of Graphic Design at DataFactory.
Ernesto Cambursano (photo), CEO of Datafactory, said that "they do not know the emotion and joy we feel to see so many young people dedicating hours and hours to the development of an idea based on the information that we have been generating for so many years. It makes us very happy and gives us the assurance that this does not end with us and that there is a very promising future."
