International. With the broadcast of the first chapter of the second season of the series El Capo 2, the MundoFox channel premieres on Monday night, aimed at Hispanic audiences living in the United States.
This channel, announced at the beginning of the year, was created in partnership between the company Fox Channels and the Colombian channel RCN. For its launch it will be available initially in 50 cities in which there is a high presence of Hispanic population that wants to see content in Spanish.
This new bet enters to compete directly with other channels of its kind that are established, such as Univision, Telefutura and Telemundo. In addition, according to figures released by the president of RCN, Gabriel Reyes, they also seek to bet on the advertising market aimed at Hispanic audiences in the United States, which may be ten times larger than that of all of Colombia.
And to open up the possibilities in terms of advertising, the channel will allow advertisements to be in English, Spanish and even in combination of the two languages, known as Spanglish.
On the programming grid, the representatives of the channel assured that it will have two informative segments that will be carried out under the criteria of the two companies, and will have RCN novels that have been broadcast in Colombia with national and international success. It will include news, dramas, series, sports and game shows.
According to the installed capacity for the entry into operation of the channel, it is expected to reach 80% of the Hispanic public in the United States in its first days.
