Argentina. On January 19, the Transmitting Station of Digital Open Television (TDA) of the Pinamar party was inaugurated, which will broadcast its signal over the air to the entire region. This project will mean that 87,000 citizens of the towns of Gral. Madariaga, Pinamar, Ostende, Valeria del Mar and Villa Gesell will be favored with the free service of Open Digital TV.
The stations will allow the free reception of the grid offered by the TDA to more than 110,000 citizens of the province of Buenos Aires and 23,500 inhabitants of the towns of San Clemente del Tuyú and Las Toninas.
In the opening ceremony, the vice president of Argentina Amado Boudou said that the TDA "aims at equal access for all and the possibility of having the same service from anywhere they live."
With this inauguration, the National Experimental Platform for Digital Terrestrial TV Transmission will have 33 operational high-power digital stations.
The event was carried out through a teleconference that culminated with regional and national officials pressing the "totem", the device through which digital television was put into operation for the region.
