Argentina. The 2012 version of Prime Time, a contest aimed at TV channels and producers to produce HD fiction series for digital channels in Argentina was launched by the Advisory Council of the Argentine Digital Terrestrial TV System (SATVD-T) and the National Interuniversity Council (CIN).
The previous year Prime Time was a success in the gaucho country where it concluded with nine fictions on the air, contemplates the selection of eight series of 48 minutes each produced in HD for digital TV.
The nine productions that were broadcast were financed by the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA), which delivered more than US$10 million for 10 series of 13 one-hour episodes (US$80,000 per episode), that is, 25% of the budget of the Development Plan.
SATVD-T's investment for this edition is not yet defined, although it is expected to be close to the US$47 million last year, which was used for the production of almost 200 titles, which included not only fiction series, but also documentaries, micros and animated cycles from all over Argentina.
