Mexico. To improve the coverage of its signal, the Mexican company Azteca, formerly called TV Azteca, commissioned Jampro to install a UHF antenna system in the municipality of Melchor Ocampo, in the northeastern state of Nuevo León.
Alex Perchevitch, president of Jampro, explained that Azteca opted for a UHF broadband JUHD model, which includes the RWCS-652-20/54 UHF waveguide combiner, rigid transmission line and related RF components needed for installation.
The JUHD can be side-mounted or top-mounted and has a modular design that can be easily configured to provide various lifting patterns. These are UHF IV and V ready DTVs.
By using an optional beam tilt, lifting patterns can achieve maximum coverage. Radars are used to protect the panels from rain and dust, which is prevalent in an agricultural area, such as Melchor Ocampo.
Perchevitch stressed that the relationship with Azteca is long. "We have been supplying them with RF equipment for more than 20 years. Since the advent of digital television we have also provided about 20 antenna systems for this technology."
Azteca has a national coverage in Mexico through air, cable, satellite and Internet. It is also available in some parts of the southern United States through broadcasting or digital cable.
