Ángela Mora Soto, new director of ANTV

Colombia. Unanimously and accepting the concepts issued by the Administrative Department of the Public Function -DAFP- and by the Administrative and Legal Coordinations of the National Television Authority, the National Television Board elected Ángela Mora Soto, as the new Director of the National Television Authority.

After the resignation of Ramón Angarita, as of the first of January of this year, the selection process of his replacement began, thus obtaining a first shortlist, whose resumes were evaluated by the entity and by the Administrative Department of the Public Function, a process reported to the Attorney General's Office and which resulted in an analysis that determined the non-compliance with the legal requirements by the three applicants; in this regard, the Board unanimously decided to accept the aforementioned concepts and to initiate a new process, in which different mechanisms and procedures were evaluated to successfully complete it.

Once this stage was over, they proposed as candidates Mariana Viña Castro and Ángela Mora Soto, the first of whom thanked the nomination but said she was not interested in it. In this order of ideas, the ANTV sent the resume of Mora Soto to the DAFP to make the respective analysis of compliance with requirements, to which the DAFP gave a positive response on April 27 and endorsed this concept by communication dated April 29, in the sense that Mora accredits the requirements provided for in Law 1507 of 2012.

Ángela María Mora Soto, is a lawyer specializing in public law. He has extensive experience in state procurement, telecommunications, education, both in the private and public sectors. During his professional practice he has served in management positions in the public sector and provided advice to public sector entities such as Adpostal, National Television Commission, ICBF, the Attorney General's Office, the Government of Cundinamarca, the Agustín Codazzi Geographical Institute, the National University -Antioquia Headquarters-, the District Secretariat of Environment, among others. Likewise, he has practiced his profession in private sector companies such as SoftManagement S.A., Celar, and others.

The new Director will have to face important challenges of managing and leading the consolidation of a more efficient, dynamic and innovative entity that adjusts to the changes in the television model today.
