International. Elemental announced that Todd Hinders has joined the company as vice president of sales for the Americas. Based in the Bay Area, Hinders leads sales efforts in the Americas where Elemental has a growing customer base, including major pay-TV operators such as Comcast, DirecTV, and Globosat, as well as content owners such as HBO and Turner.
As a veteran of the video and encoding software industry, Hinders will focus on expanding Elemental's software-defined video (SDV) solutions into the American market, with pay-TV operators and content owners abandoning rigid hardware-based video processing solutions to approach the flexibility of SDV.
He will guide the North and South American sales teams tasked with helping media companies leverage Elemental's full suite to support the entire IP video distribution chain.
"Elemental's software-defined video and unified infrastructure solutions are revolutionizing content delivery, helping to reduce operating costs and simplify workflows. With Todd's experience and leadership, Elemental is uniquely positioned to help traditional pay-TV operators move beyond fixed-feature video infrastructure," said Dan Marshall, elemental's senior vice president of worldwide sales.
Hinders has more than 20 years of experience at the forefront of content distribution and monetization technologies. He brings to Elemental a deep knowledge of business development and expansion, software and digital media solutions. Previously, he was senior sales director of video software and coding products at Cisco, and held sales positions at Loudeye (encoding.com), Maven Networks, and ExtendMedia.
