Colombia. Gonzalo Córdoba Mallarino (photo), who had been serving as president of the board of directors of Caracol Televisión, will become the new president of the channel. This was announced by Alejandro Santo Domingo, representative of the company's shareholders.
The new president indicated that his main task will be to consolidate Caracol Televisión in the leadership position it has achieved, as well as to successfully face the challenges of audiovisual convergence.
Gonzalo Córdoba Mallarino will replace Carlos Pérez Dávila, who was in office for a year and a half and who will now assume the presidency of the company's board of directors.
Alejandro Santo Domingo highlighted the process of restructuring and modernization that transformed the company. "In just a year and a half Carlos achieved the goal we had set ourselves: to transform and prepare Caracol for the challenges ahead. Thanks to his management I am convinced that Caracol is prepared as never before to face the harsh competitive environment in which we are and preserve and strengthen its leadership."
Among the changes of Caracol Televisión in recent months is the consolidation of different business units, as well as the transformation of the news structure and the area of digital platforms that seek to ensure their presence in the media of the future.
In addition, the channel led the project that will allow the Santo Domingo Group to return to the world of radio through the network of stations called Blue, which will begin operations on september six.
