Latin America. ARRI announces the official launch of its Camera Companion app for iPhone, iPad and Mac with Apple Silicon. This app allows users to configure their own custom interface for remote control of one or more ALEXA 35, ALEXA Mini LF, ALEXA Mini, AMIRA and ALEXA 265 cameras.
ARRI's Camera Companion is now available on the Apple App Store. With two subscription options, Camera Companion's flexible interface streamlines on-set workflows for camera crews and digital imaging technicians. The Standard subscription provides complete control of one or two ARRI cameras, while the Premium subscription adds features such as unlimited cameras and MIDI support.
A free demo version of the app offers basic single-camera control, access to the camera menu, and free trials of Standard and Premium subscriptions that allow users to familiarize themselves with the control possibilities before deciding which subscription is most suitable. Every new project in the app includes a simulated camera, so users can start exploring even without a camera. Connection to a real ARRI camera can be deployed via the camera's WiFi network or a wider network on set.
Custom control is the key to the Camera Companion experience. Users can choose a predefined layout or drag and drop control tiles into a custom layout that fits the way they work, allowing them to instantly control the parameters they need. Unlimited buttons can be assigned to virtually any camera function that is required, and then dragged and dropped into the user's custom layout.
With a Premium subscription, the interface can be organized into multiple tabs, allowing you to create separate tabs for different cameras or shooting situations, or assign a specific tab to features such as playback control.
Camera Companion offers flexible, portable access to all the camera controls and status displays common to a professional set. Features praised by beta testers include the ability to save builds per project, separate interfaces for DP and DIT, and the ability to create and edit videos.
