Dr. Tyng Tan of the Hair and Laser Clinic in Singapore, affiliated with the renowned Cole Hair Transplant Group, performed the new C2G technique together with the renowned Dr. John Cole at the AAHRS (Asian Association of Expert Hair Restoration Surgeons) at a congress held in 2012 in the city of Seoul, South Korea. The operation was an on-site demonstration to share this new approach with other industry professionals from the rest of the world.
Singapore – Dr. John Cole, who developed a very special technique called FUE, popularly known as CIT, was also a pioneer of the C2G technique, which he demonstrated with his colleague Dr. Tyng Tan during the 2012 AAHRS congress in Seoul, South Korea.
CIT and PCID techniques were used to share them with 20 other frontline surgeons in the field of hair implant who came to that city from all over the world. These two techniques were developed with the aim of improving the durability and aesthetics of hair implants.
The CIT represents the Cole Isolation Technique and is an improved version of the FUE technique as special instruments are used to assist at the time of extraction. This technique requires deep dermal analysis to ensure that the end result is safe extraction of the hair follicle.
With the CIT technique, the extraction rate is improved. In fact, this technique made possible the longest hair graft session on record. The maximum extraction can reach 6000 grafts in one session, but they keep the figure around 3000 today.
The CIT technique also allows the surgeon to use hair from other parts of the body, such as the chest, belly, or back. This significantly increases the amount of hair that can be obtained from the donor.
The PCID (Programmable Power Cable Isolation Device) technique is an improved version of the CIT as it allows more precise drilling that helps speed up the extraction process. The best thing about this technique is that it includes a programmable device that allows for better flexibility during extraction. The perforations used are the most accurate on the market and with them a clean cut and refined extraction are achieved. This means that the scars on the donor are less detectable.
The C2G technique was presented at the congress and was also developed by Dr. Cole. It eliminates the need for the patient to shave their head, which is a requirement of the CIT technique. In this way, a technique is presented that will have more followers because it allows patients to continue normally with their lives without other people knowing that they have done this type of treatment because they would have the possibility of maintaining their normal hairstyle.
Dr. Tan continues as an affiliate of the U.S.-based Cole Hair Transplant Group. His constant work with Dr. Cole's pioneering techniques gives him a unique opportunity for his professional development at The Hair and Laser Clinic in Singapore.
