Solutions for broadcast workflows
Rohde & Schwarz has expanded its R&S VENICE intake and playout platform with the R&S VENICE Control app. R&S VENICE Control is an ingest software that allows you to control complex recordings with several cameras, and is capable of recording up to 16 independent channels.
In the latest version 6.1 of the R&S CLIPSTER mastering station, special emphasis has been placed on HDR technology, extended color scales, HFR and localization workflows. For localization, R&S CLIPSTER offers subtitling in IMF format and basic composition. Floating-point processing and color depth ensure high-precision conversion within the brightness range, an essential aspect for HDR mastering workflows.
R&S PRIOS IP, the new video card in the Rohde & Schwarz range, has been designed for customers who rely on original equipment from manufacturers from all areas of professional video technology and digital cinema. In addition to common SDI interfaces, the card also includes the 10-gigabit Ethernet standard for video over IP. Coding, multiplexing and broadcast equipment for all needs
Rohde & Schwarz's R&S AVHE100 header delivers exceptional image quality for UHD and HD HEVC encoding, even at low transmission rates. To give viewers even more fascinating visual effects, Rohde & Schwarz's solution adds HDR auxiliary data to the TS. The SPTS function meets the requirements for a simple encoder exchange and is intended for the IP television market.
At the fair, Rohde & Schwarz will also present its latest transmitter solutions, which make it possible to reduce operating expenses to a great extent. The new generation of transmitters combines factors such as exceptional energy efficiency, an extremely compact design and an innovative redundancy concept, all designed to make life easier for network operators.
The BMM-810 platform of Rohde & Schwarz subsidiary GMIT includes a proven audio/video multivisor and monitoring solution for broadcast and OTT streaming (over the top). Based on this product, the company will present a technology study with innovative extensions for IP-based mezzanine streaming formats for playout and contribution.
Test and measurement equipment for the most advanced standards
The company also presents solutions for the latest satellite standards, especially for broadcast services and other professional services, including IP-based services. The instrument configurations are based on the R&S BTC broadcasting test center and the R&S SMW high-end signal generator, and are specially used for DVB-S2/S2X signal performance testing.
The stand will also showcase the R&S SLG satellite load generator for channel bonding and generation of single-carrier or multi-carrier signals. The generator includes the latest modifications and extensions of the ISDB-S2 intermediate frequency band up to 3225 MHz.
