Digilab joined the Kaltura OTT TV platform

Brazil. Kaltura announced that it has completed the integration of its Kaltura OTT TV platform with Digilab, a video solutions company from Santa Catarina, Brazil. This new integration will allow users to quickly and intelligently make available to their customers the videos already prepared by Digilab on the Kaltura platform.

The companies hope with the new partnership that the two platforms will add value to their users by reducing the time needed to make Video on Demad (VoD) and live content available to television operators in Brazil and Latin America.

Thus, Kaltura and Digilab begin to offer their customers the possibility of reducing the time needed to distribute content for linear and VoD programming, because they offer a more robust and integrated joint solution. With this partnership, Digilab's PlayManager platform – which already allowed the distribution of a matrix content in the existing linear channels, will now be integrated into the playout, and will be able to carry out the distribution for OTT and VoD platforms, especially for backend. All this, possible because the Brazilian platform is integrated into the Kaltura OTT TV platform.

The companies have, initially, as a goal the implementation of this service in some of the customers who already use the solution, but the idea is to reach the Latin American audiovisual industry as quickly as possible, since they consider that it can be an excellent solution for programmers, operators, content providers, producers and distributors who can obtain excellent results with the integration.

Edmar Moraes, Director of Media sales and Entertainment for Latin America at Kaltura, says that this new partnership can be very important to accelerate and reduce the content management process allowing companies to offer a wide ecosystem of technological partnerships in the region. "Our customers will gain time and reduce operational costs in preparing the content that content producers offer them on a daily basis."

Mario Ceccon, Marketing Manager of Digilab, hopes that this partnership will generate not only the possibility of sharing the client portfolio, but also that the PlayManager can be directed and developed in a clearer and more concrete way obeying the needs of the clients. "The expectation is to better understand the needs of the market and offer together with Kaltura, a tool capable of reducing the incompatibilities of the formats in which the contents are produced, and thus provide a better exhibition option."

The launch of the partnership will take place during SET EXPO, which takes place in the Red Pavilion of the Expo Center Norte Convention Center, in São Paulo, from August 22 to 24, 2017. The companies claim that they chose this event because the exhibition still explores the traditional broadcast market with many solutions for linear programming, and with few non-linear options.

"Both Digilab and Kaltura are companies focused on IT solutions for the audiovisual market. We think that this partnership that aims  to generate a strong platform for the OTT and VoD market, and that can be integrated into the linear market, will be a prominent option at the fair, because with a single management, a single registration will be possible to make various deliveries, "says Ceccon.

The SET EXPO 2017, is the largest media content and technology fair in Latin America will have Kaltura as a Bronze category sponsor. This is because in this edition SET will give more space to issues related to technological innovation and multiplatform content in its nearly 6 thousand m² of exhibition area.
