Argentina. The National Communications Agency, Enacom, toured the city of Paraná, carrying out controls of the emissions of antennas and other communications infrastructures, with the support of the staff of the Emissions Monitoring Center, CCTE.
During the tour, personnel of the delegation of the entity and specialized technicians used a modern measurement system with which they recorded the different levels of emissions of the antennas and radio bases.
Of the entire route, 1,755 measurements were made from the Enacom mobile unit that visited various points of the urban area of the city, prioritizing the areas with the highest density of mobile phone irradiating systems. In this sense, the maximum level recorded was 8,833 V/m. Likewise, 4 measurements were made in the vicinity of electrical appliances in different private homes in the area as a comparison with the emissions of the radio bases.
There the maximum value recorded was 13,155 V/m. This means that emissions from household appliances can sometimes be higher than from infrastructure such as mobile phone antennas.
As a result of the survey, it was verified that the measurements do not exceed 50% of the Maximum Permitted Exposure established by the Ministry of Health and Social Action of the Nation, remaining, in addition, well below the levels established by the World Health Organization (WHO).
