Latin America. Panasonic announced the NewTek AutoLinkTM for Panasonic PTZ, a software application that allows users to connect Panasonic's IP-ready professional video cameras to a network and detect their presence automatically from NewTek TriCaster and the IP Series Video Mix Engine.
With NewTek AutoLink for Panasonic PTZ, Panasonic IP cameras detected on a network are immediately available for use in NDI-based video production without requiring any additional configuration.
Users can have any number of Panasonic IP cameras on standby, ready to be used for live production. Compatible cameras include: AW-HE130, AW-HE40 and AW-UE70 PTZ cameras, as well as studio cameras and AK-UB300 4K Box Camera, with outputs for streaming.
Once the camera is recognized as a video source on the network, it is accessible from any TriCaster or Video Mix Engine (IP Series) on the network. Video rendering and streaming only starts when the source (or camera) is selected, thus preserving its valuable bandwidth and system resources.
"Mutual customers from Panasonic and Newtek have asked us for a faster setup and easy integration as studio and live production customers have become very diverse. Simple IP connectivity is the answer," says Kunihiko Miyagi, Executive Vice President, Broadcast and Cinema, Panasonic Imaging Network Business Division – Professional AV "We are very excited to offer a true plug-and-play system between Panasonic, a leader in PTZ cameras and studio camera systems and Newtek TriCaster.
Adding another AW-HE130, AW-HE40 or AW-UE70 to a Newtek production system will be easier thanks to this innovative software. We expect the easy operation to satisfy the requests of existing customers and also expand the market for our technologies by catering to new opportunities presented by streaming media."
"NewTek and Panasonic share a vision of a production environment driven by a workflow via IP. NewTek AutoLink for Panasonic PTZ is a collaboration between our two companies to make this vision a reality today," said Dr. Andrew Cross, President and CTO of NewTek. "The beauty is that you can connect as many Panasonic IP cameras as needed , without using all the available bandwidth."
NewTek AutoLink for Panasonic PTZ also supports the PTZ control functionality built into TriCaster and the Video Mix Engine (IP Series), allowing the user to manage the orientation, zoom, focus and iris of supported cameras, and record and display camera settings directly from the user interface or a compatible controller .
NewTek AutoLink for Panasonic PTZ will work with any professional Panasonic IP camera enabled, supporting RTSP delivery via streaming over an Ethernet connection . This includes the AW-HE130, AW-HE40, AW-UE70 PTZ PTZ cameras, ak-hc5000 studio camera, AK-UC3000 4K 4K studio camera and also the AK-UB300 4K Box Camera.
Actual performance may vary based on conditions defined by each user, including camera model and settings, video format selected, resolution, frame rate , and network settings.
