Latin America. To simplify the consumer TV experience, Nagra will present a demonstration of its latest content protection and user experience solutions that aim to connect people to the content they love at CES® 2017 in Las Vegas (Jan. 5-8) in The Venetian Hotel's San Polo 3501A conference room.
Nagra, in addition to having several new announcements scheduled for the fair, will present, for the first time in the North American market, TVkey, a direct connection solution to the TV that allows consumers to enjoy premium content in ultra high definition 4K format and HDR on newer model Samsung TVs.
TVkey, winner of the 2017 CES Innovation Award, is a USB electronic key that allows consumers to enjoy a wide range of premium pay-TV services without needing additional encoder boxes or remotes. For operators, it is a cost-effective and quick-to-install solution for accessing homes, and for manufacturers, it expands the variety of services available on their devices.
It will also demonstrate how service providers can stand out through a systematic and streamlined user experience that stylishly spans a broad spectrum of home TV use cases, including:
· A vast experience similar to intuiTV in SmarDTV encoder boxes and also in popular devices that are purchased at retail.
· Direct connection situations to the TV with TVkey content protection.
· Launch of an OTT offering of a second screen on the main screen with a simple and low-cost HDMI device.
· Extending pay-TV broadcast functionality at home using a Wi-Fi network that streams broadcast channels to other devices and applications.
In turn, Nagra will introduce the increasingly prevalent pirate IPTV encoder boxes that are a threat to the pay-TV business. The company will outline strategies to properly manage these Set Top Boxes (STBs) by using the unique, comprehensive approach that can provide "real content protection," including NAGRA Anti-Piracy Services and NexGuard forensic watermarking solutions.
These exclusive solutions are uncompetitive in terms of full compliance with the latest requirements for enhanced protection of Hollywood content. In turn, they offer insights into how content owners and distributors can collaborate to solve real service provider problems, such as key sharing, content sharing, and especially IPTV piracy.
Finally, the company will address the issue of how its analytics solutions are designed to deliver a wealth of information derived from use to help service providers generate innovation more quickly and run their TV operations more effectively.
