Mexico. Based on recent IP-based developments in the broadcast industry, NewTek showcased its newly launched SDI environment, which, said Filippo Ferlini, the company's Director of Sales Operations for Latin America, will be a benchmark in the industry.
Taking as a framework the Expo Cinema, TV and Video 2016 -held in Mexico City-, he said: "We are presenting the NDI environment. It is our protocol for live production over IP, and every day we are implementing it more and developing it, because we believe it is a good solution for those who have to produce more at a lower price. At the moment we are presenting the integration of different actors through an IP gateway, connected in Expo Cine, TV and Video, of different booths, of different resellers with our booths, with remote signals through a gate of low performance with a very contained cost".
The executive mentioned that with this solution, television stations and producers of audiovisual content can count on a comprehensive tool. "NDI is our key to the development of the future of TV, where productions must be thought of in a more modular way, where there is no more space to have large equipment, large unused or underused spaces."
In fact, during the event a live demonstration of the solution was made: "In the booth of Simply there is an integration with the company Sienna, then we have the possibility of connecting by IP, using NDI over long distances. They have connected an office in London with an office of Simply in Mexico using a relatively low bandwidth, but with a great versatility of resources. Then it offers the possibility of using IP networks not only in WAN, but also LAN," ferlini said.
