Sony improves the offer of ultra-fast speed supports

International. Sony has expanded its range of professional memory cards to include newer and faster SD and XQD media, as well as card readers for SD and XQD formats and an XQD USB adapter, all designed to be compatible with the latest high-performance DSLR cameras such as Nikon D5 or D500.

Sony's XQD-M series offers users ultra-high data transfer speeds of up to 440 Mbps (read) and 150 MB/s (write) for stable recording and the ability to back up 64 GB of data in approximately 3 minutes, using Sony's new card reader technology. The solid and exclusive structure of the XQD format, with card thickness and pin protection, as well as a reinforced outer shell, is designed for reliable use.

In addition, Sony's new SD cards, the SF-M series, are UHS-II compatible cards optimized for digital imaging devices, including professional, DSLR and mirrorless cameras. In addition, with high speeds of up to 260 MB/s (read) and 100 MB/s (write), the SF-M series ensures fast data transfer to and from a computer with Sony's new UHS-II compatible card reader.

Both new media offerings are highly reliable and durable and are dust, X-ray, antistatic and magnet-proof to protect the most sensitive photo and video content. Downloadable file recovery software allows recovery of photos and videos that may have been deleted, including RAW images, MOV files, and XAVC-S 4K video files.

Along with the new card options, Sony introduces the world's first SD/XQD card reader, the MRW-E90, which supports reliable ultra-high-speed data transfers to a computer from any UHS-II and XQD series compatible SD card, eliminating the need for multiple adapters and readers. The new card reader also supports USB SuperSpeed (USB 3.1 Gen.1). Sony has developed the E90 alongside Sony's XQD and SD cards, which optimizes reliability and ensures the cards are fully compatible, to give professionals the best performance.

QDA-SB1 is a USB XQD adapter compatible with G and M series XQD cards. The adapter has been optimized to take up a single USB port, and comes with a USB cable extension.

The following is the availability planning for new support technologies for professional use:
•    XQD M-series card available in February
•    SF-M series SD card available in March
•    MRW-E90 SD/XQD card reader available in February
•    XQD USB adapter QDA-SB1 available in April

When using the XQD-M series with PXW-FS7, PXW-Z100 or other Sony devices, it is necessary to update the device software
