International. Blackmagic Design announced that version 11.2 of DaVinci Resolve is now available, which offers among other features better image processing in CinemaDNG RAW format, new functions to adjust the extreme values of lights and shadows, compatibility with DNxHR files, and greater ease when working with Media Composer 8.3.
It includes improvements in the processing of CinemaDNG RAW files that makes it easier to work with images captured by Blackmagic's digital cinematic cameras. Users will be able to take greater advantage of the advances that this version presents by making conversions between different color spaces and thus obtain more real images in Rec format. 709 and P3 when processing RAW files.
New adjustment functions for highlights and shadows are available during the conversion of CinemaDNG RAW images with high dynamic range to Rec. 709 and allow to obtain a better quality in small color spaces, since they are processed by new algorithms designed to minimize the loss of details and achieve extraordinary results.
In addition, DaVinci Resolve 11.2 offers greater compatibility with Avid, facilitating the transfer of sequences and materials in high resolution between both systems. New procedures used in encoding and decoding DNxHR files allow the user to share high-definition images, while improvements in importing and exporting content in AAF format give editors and colorists the ability to work on the same project using DaVinci 11.2 and Media Composer 8.3 faster and more reliably.
This version allows you to select the order of red, green, and blue pixels when using DPX 2.0 files, and use labels and markers with the ColorTrace function.
"We are excited to be able to offer this update for DaVinci Resolve and Resolve Lite. It's an extraordinary innovation that further enhances the image quality it offers and gives users the ability to get more out of their Blackmagic cameras by simply opening the RAW files in this new version of the program," said Grant Petty, CEO of Blackmagic Design.
DaVinci Resolve users can download the new version for free from the Blackmagic Design website.
