Panasonic's Lumix AG-GH4U system, which is aimed at professional video and media filmmakers looking for a lightweight and versatile equipment that offers both the recording of video with 4K UHD quality, and the capture of high-resolution photographs simultaneously, is now available in Mexico.
The system, which includes the body of the Lumix GH4 and the DMW-YAGH expansion interface necessary for recording and transmitting video with 4K UHD quality, adds the best of the Micro Four Thirds optical system of interchangeable lenses, new sensor, a Venus Engine image processor developed especially for this camera, 4K video technology, in addition to the wide range of possibilities and connectivity offered by the DMW-YAGH expansion interface, indispensable for professional production in the 4K UHD world.
This accessory, DMW-YAGH, serves as an interface to achieve faster and more efficient video transmission. It offers four SDI connectors with Timecode function to achieve a 4K video output (4:2:2 / 10-bit) and two Full HD video outputs (4:2:2 / 10-bit), or the four parallel HD outputs can also be used simultaneously.
The DMW-YAGH also integrates multiple video input and output (SDI) and audio (XLR) connections to work with other devices and accessories typical of professional video production.
The Lumix AG-GH4U package will be very useful for different filmmakers, from those focused on social video to producers of news, movies or TV shows in different situations such as:
- High-quality 4k 10-Bit Recording: Offers 4:2:2/10-bit 4K video output via Quad Link (SDI x 4) to meet the image quality needs of commercial productions for advertising, film or television. Its connection flexibility allows you to work in conjunction with external storage drives and video monitors.
- Recordings areas or on board vehicles: Due to its light weight (560g), compact dimensions (132.9 x 93.4 x 83.9mm) and versatility for changing lenses, it is ideal for riding on drones or unmanned vehicles and achieving spectacular and very creative shots. It is also a good tool for operating in tight spaces such as the cabin of a car.
- Extract 4K photos from 4K video: By recording video in 4K quality, still images or 4K photos, equivalent to 8 million pixels, can be extracted directly from the camera. This option facilitates the work of social videographers or photojournalists who can generate content for different platforms with the same team.
- Quality audio recording: Thanks to its XLR connectors it is possible to use an external microphone to ensure that the audio quality in interviews or testimonials is optimal and goes hand in hand with that of the video.
