Mexico. Panasonic reported on the availability in Mexico of the AJ-PX270, a lightweight handheld camcorder for professional use, which has all the advantages of its older sisters, the "shoulder" cameras. But what really distinguishes it is its variety of recording formats and the flexibility to distribute content from the camcorder itself, just a few seconds after being captured, or better yet, broadcast "live" through a 3G connection, 4G, WiFi or via LAN, in an agile and simple way.
The new camera is the smallest member of the P2 AVC-ULTRA family and is designed for the rough work of capturing news, producing sports programs, documentaries, corporate videos, conferences and streaming.
Its transmission technology generates a new way of working in audiovisual production, since it allows video files to be shared from the scene of the events, just one moment after being recorded. This minimizes the waiting time between recording and broadcasting the images, as it is enough for the cameraman to connect to a network (LAN, WiFi, 3G or 4G) to send your material to the studios and begin the editing process.
It is also possible to take advantage of the available networks to broadcast "live" through a streaming. This function gives greater freedom to the operator, since the camcorder does not depend on any cable, in addition to saving production costs by not needing a mobile unit to make a live link.
The quality of these transmissions is guaranteed, because due to their low latency (one second) there are practically no delays in the interviews or reports that are made between the studio and the reporter who transmits from the place of the news. In addition, the AJ-PX270 adjusts the data transfer rate according to the available connection, so it uses lower bandwidth if coverage is low, ensuring that streaming quality is always the best possible.
It is the first handheld camcorder to integrate the new codecs of AVC-ULTRA technology. Developed by Panasonic, AVC ULTRA provides a variety of recording modes and formats to fit production needs in terms of image quality, storage capacity, file size and transfer speed.
The AJ-PX270 is flexible on the storage media it uses. It has a slot for P2 memory cards (PCMCIA size) and two slots to insert the new Micro P2 cards (available in 32 and 64GB) or SD cards (SD/SDHC/SDXC). Among other options, the camcorder allows you to save the same content on two cards to make a backup or store video on each card with a different codec.
