Latin America. Sony launched the HXR-NX3 HD handheld camcorder, the latest addition to the NXCAM lineup. Designed for the professional videographer, the new camera combines the company's imaging technology with the ability to connect seamlessly with other devices such as smartphones or tablets thanks to the built-in WiFi technology, allowing you to control the camcorder remotely.
It combines lens and sensor with LSI technology for better image quality. Sony's ExmorTM 3CMOS sensor system, with three 1/2.8" sensors, offers an effective Full HD pixel count of 1920x1080. As a result, red, blue and green lights are captured independently and accurately using separate image sensors, helping to achieve high resolution, sensitivity and a wide dynamic range that creates an extraordinarily natural colour reproduction.
The new LSI technology, which includes advanced noise reduction and various distortion correction technologies, handles image processing by allowing clear recordings to be captured with low noise even in low light conditions.
The HXR-NX3 camcorder records video in AVCHD 2.0 format, which includes 1080/50P, for fluid and natural subject movement. 50i and 25p modes offer playback support with Blu-ray players. The HDMI connector offers uncompressed 8-bit 4:2:2 sampling during shooting, allowing users to record amazing images with a generic external video recorder.
In addition, the HXR-NX3 camcorder can connect with other devices to control it remotely or transfer the recorded content. Smartphones or tablets with iOS (versions 4.3 to 7.0) and Android (versions 2.3 to 4.3) can be used to control the HXR-NX3 camcorder via a WiFi connection and video files can be transferred from the camcorder to a smartphone.
The HXR-NX3 camcorder can simultaneously record lightweight MP4 files. MP4 (720p, 3Mbps) is an ideal file format for network use, which can be transferred wirelessly from the camcorder to a smartphone or tablet with the PlayMemoriesTM Mobile mobile app (*3).
The HXR-NX3 camcorder also includes a number of additional features to offer versatility when filming and minimize the need for additional equipment.
The HXR-NX3 camcorder will be available in Latin America from the end of January.
