International. Elemental Technologies announced major advancements to efficiently distribute multi-screen video aimed at the cable industry, including 4K HEVC live video processing and low MPEG bit encoding rate.
The company highlighted that 4K video presents a challenge in terms of bandwidth required to deliver a visualization with immersive experience. Elemental's HEVC/H.265 application enables 4K content delivery in tight bitrates.
New software-based video processing solutions from pay-TV operators deliver quality linear and on-demand video to end users on any device with high efficiency.
With these video processing solutions, pay-TV operators can reduce traditional MPEG 2-bitrates by up to 30%. In addition, they support multiple codecs running simultaneously on a single platform and provide a seamless migration path from current video delivery standards to future compression technologies.
Other systems include cloud video processing and content monetization using technologies that help customers protect and monetize content in a multi-screen ecosystem, such as forensic watermarking, encryption, CAS/DRM, ESAM, targeted ad insertion and removal, and audio normalization.
Aslam Khader, product manager at Elemental, explained that "The HEVC will drastically reduce the bitrates needed for 4K terrestrial and over-the-top content delivery, offering pay-TV operators a viable path to deliver immersive content to subscribers on any device."
