Latin America. Autodesk became the latest member of the production community to adopt Sony's XAVC and SRMASTER (RAW and MXF) formats. The 2014 extension versions of Autodesk Flame Premium, Flame, Smoke Advanced, Flare and Lustre software will be able to process XAVC and SRMASTER formats and support 4K workflows for creative 3D finishing and color grading.
Sony's XAVC and SRMASTER formats are an open platform technology for high-quality moving image content and the recording format of the CineAlta F65, PMW-F55/PMW-F5 digital moving image camera systems.
Autodesk is a licensee of these formats, using Sony's technical support and software development kits, and will offer supported products for this important new digital acquisition format. New versions supporting Autodesk's XAVC and SRMASTER formats are planned to be available later this year.
"The XAVC and SRMASTER platforms were developed to benefit the entire industry in creating the highest quality moving image content. Sony is committed to increasing the efforts of the production industry and ultimately increasing consumers' abilities to enjoy movie entertainment," said Fabien Pisano, Strategic Marketing Manager, Sony Europe.
Members of the Sony XAVC alliance (40 members) and SRMASTER (34 members) include post-production companies and manufacturers of content production solutions including dailies for film sets, non-linear editing and color grading technology.
