Colombia. As part of the modernization process in its services, the Telecommunications Company of Bogotá, ETB, the company plans to implement a hybrid interactive television service for its current users.
To fulfill this purpose, the company reached an alliance with Huawei, which will allow it to offer TV in high definition through broadband and internet for distribution on different mobile devices, in addition to the TV.
In this regard, Lu Qi, General Manager of Huawei for Colombia, said that "we are proud to be the strategic partner of ETB in one of the most innovative interactive television projects in Colombia in recent years. The work we are doing in conjunction with ETB allows us to once again reinforce our company's leadership in digital solutions for the home."
The most benefited from this agreement will be the subscribers of the ETB television service, as they will be able to access services such as video on demand, juices, stop, go back and record the programs, among many other benefits of interactive TV.
In this way ETB continues to prepare to gain more market in the strong competition of telecommunications in Colombia, which competes with Claro, Telefónica and Une.
