Latin America. Among DirectTV's plans in the region is the entry into operation of two television channels: OnDirecTV Alta Definicion and OnDirecTV Definicion standard 999. Therefore, it reached an agreement with wTVision and Unitecnic to install a complete playout automation service.
wTVision and Unitecnic have worked for Imagina US, providing end-to-end solutions for these channels. wTVision has customized its modular product ChannelMaker to integrate with other transmission technologies, with the main objective of developing a new architectural structure of two channels, one in standard definition and one in high definition.
The structure of this project includes channelMaker's integration with the Grass Valley video server, the Miranda Imagestore Master Control mixer, the Snell Cygnus video router and the ForeTV Traffic system. It also includes playout superfluity for both standard-definition and high-definition channels.
The ChannelMaker system easily manages complex channel architectures, from simple main channel configurations and backup to multi-channel, multi-station, multi-installation and multi-vendor installations.
