Argentina. At the end of March, Argentines already have 75% of free national coverage on open digital television, in accordance with the goal they had set. This was announced by the Minister of Federal Planning, Julio De Vido.
"Thanks to the recent inaugurations of the new 14 digital terrestrial stations (EDT) installed in different Argentine cities, 75% of the total population of the country already has the free coverage offered by the TDA signal," he said.
He also indicated that the actions deployed to date allowed the National Experimental Transmission Platform to have 50 operational high-power digital ground stations so far. To these will be added seven that are in the construction stage.
In addition, Julio De Vido recalled that within the framework of the Mi TV Digital plan they have delivered 1,080,000 set-top boxes to citizens and institutions that present risks of exclusion during the technological transition process. In this regard, Argentina has been a pioneer among the countries of Latin America.
The government of this country had the line 0800 888 6488 and the portal www.tda.gob.ar to consult the coverage areas, who is responsible for receiving the free decoder and the points of sale.
