Mexico. Powered by Ross Video, Azteca, formerly TV Azteca, began its regular 3DTV broadcasts with two systems: the Ross Video Xpression generator and the Carbonite production switcher.
Through its distributor in the Mexican capital, Sistemas Digitales, the North American company made Azteca the first television station in Mexico to have an automated OverDrive control system for the production of its news.
Rubén Centineo, manager of 3D Projects of the Mexican production company, added that the company has two more objectives linked to the 3D television project: to offer a good quality image that avoids headaches and illnesses to viewers and achieve public enjoyment.
The Xpression is a 3D stream production character generator for the design and reproduction of motion graphics, without neglecting the 2D workflow.
Carbonite is Ross Video's latest production switcher for serial production. It has 10 outputs, dual input of 10 multiviewer, output preview, eight independent Aux outputs and 16 or 24 external inputs, among other features.
The director of Engineering of Azteca, Román Gómez, said that "we want people to stay at home enjoying our live production. Reaching land-to-air homes with 3DTV content was our main challenge."
