United Kingdom. The production of the reality show "X Factor" is now done in HD thanks to the technology of Telecast Fiber Systems acquired by the British production company FremantleMedia, to facilitate the shots in the different locations, during the auditions and in the "training camps", not only in England but in all the countries where the program is produced.
The CooperHead 3200 fiber optic transmitters mounted on Sony's XDCam PDW F800 cameras, along with the Python II bidirectional transmission/reception systems are the tools used by the production company to take advantage of the portability and low cost of fiber optic technology for outdoor shots.
This system is capable of transporting data such as control between cameras, call counting and intercom with a single fiber optic line, in addition to transmitting 8 and 16 channel HD signal to monitor stacks.
"In a production of this type that requires a documentary feel, we always avoid moving trucks with mobile transmission equipment," explained X Factor executive producer Andrew Llinares, adding that the recently acquired Telecast equipment is cost-effective and versatile.
