During the NAB expo in Las Vegas, Harris focused his show on technologies that help broadcasters more efficiently handle on-site audio and video signal processing.
At the booth, customers could observe innovations in content routing and deployment such as a new synchronism input card for the Platinum router and new multiviewer solutions for IP networks. The new card for the Platinum receives up to eight video signals that are synchronized with the home reference, without the need for external sources or wiring.
In addition to synchronization, the card can demultiplex up to 16 channels of embedded audio in each video stream, thus allowing audio to be routed independently and discreetly. ASI, SD, HD and 3 Gb/s signals are supported in coax or fiber connectivity. In the field of Multiviewers, Harris showed a new system over IP, based on Centrio technology. The new multiviewer supports numerous codecs and transport formats over Ethernet.
