StreamBox added a new model to its line of solutions for transporting SD audio/video signals via IP networks. This is the StreamBox SBT3-5300, a 1RU device that is ideal for live news broadcasts, feed delivery to cable headers , ENG/EFP mobile units, STL links or any other application that requires high quality with minimal power consumption.
The 5300 system was specially designed for applications with limited bandwidth, and can be used to transmit over IP networks both 'live' signals and previously stored files. This device uses StreamBox's ACT-L3 codec to deliver good quality SD material using data rates between 64Kbps and 15Mbps.
The error correction and time compensation systems developed by StreamBox make possible a significant reduction in defects induced by network state changes and packet loss. On the other hand, the low latency of the system makes the 5300 system also useful for video conferencing applications, and its simple web interface facilitates its configuration and commissioning.
The SBT3-5300 includes composite and SD-SDI video connections with embedded audio, as well as balanced audio and AES digital audio. The drive includes a solid-state drive to store your configuration data and improve your response times when receiving material, and can be equipped with redundant power supplies to ensure greater reliability.
