Amino Communications, an independent leader in IPTV, won a tender in Costa Rica to provide set-top boxes that allow the largest deployment of IPTV services led by the Costa Rican Electricity Institute.
The network operator plans to launch its services in the first half of 2010, targeting more than 100,000 homes across the country. Amino will work closely with the ITS system integrator in the implementation of services and will provide 38 thousand units including its A125 and A130M set top boxes , and the A530 DVR digital video recorder, over the next two years.
The ITS system integrator will manage the deployment of the network working with teams and suppliers such as Amino, Minerva Networks, Harmonic, ATEME and Widevine.
According to Andrew Burke, President of Amino CEO, "One of our strengths is our ecosystem and our ability to integrate a wide range of middleware partners. This new contract highlights these capabilities and we look forward to working with our partners on this new development in IPTV deployment in Central America."
