JVC announced a new feature of its ProHD GY-HM700 camcorder that brings greater benefits to customers in choosing their workflow. As with the GY-HM100, files in .MP4 format can now be written to an SDHC card, along with files. mov when the SxS adapter is not attached, providing great flexibility for filming and offering a dual media concept.
The company also added a more powerful Dynamic Noise Reduction (DNR) capability to the GY-HM700 camera, which produces higher image quality.
In combination with the optional KA-MR100 SxS adapter, the GY-HM700 provides unique dual-recording capability properties and a selection of industry-leading file formats for low- and high-cost production. With the KA-MR100 media recorder attached, it is possible to record files .MP4 compatible with Sony XDCAM EX to a high-speed SXS card, while recording files .MP4. on low-cost SDHC cards. Having two copies available instantly offers more versatility in the field, with the guarantee of always having a backup.
The file format. Mp4 recorded on the SDHC card can be edited natively by non-linear editing systems that support XDCAM EX. In addition, the files .MP4 recorded on the SxS are compatible with the Sony XDECAM EC format. Recording in the native format of the editing system eliminates the transfer step and speeds up the post-production workflow.
