AVCOM, a local distributor of broadcast equipment in Caracas, Venezuela, is helping television production company Vision HD build the first high-definition production truck in that country. This truck features a wide variety of technologies and HD multi-format systems, from Grass Valley.
Designed to produce live sports and entertainment events, the truck will include six Grass Valley Infinity camcorders (DMC 1000), two LDK 3000 HD cameras, one HD Kayak production switcher , and two Dyno K2 Replay HD controllers combined with two K2 Summit production clients.
"More and more events in Latin America are being captured in high definition and now Venezuela will have the benefit of proven HD technology for remote production," said Camilo Aranguren, president of AVCOM. "Vision HD's chosen products provide great flexibility to produce shows in either 720p or 1080i HD format, offering the ability to work with a wide variety of customers."
Infinity camcorders selected by Vision HD include Telecast Fiber Systems' new camera-mounted fiber optic transceiver, CopperHead INF, to power the camera and send high-definition signals over short or long distances.
