The British firm Rotolight debuted at the last NAB 2009 with its RL48 LED lamp to mount on the camera. The system consists of 48 ultra-bright luminous diodes balanced in daylight at 5600K, and according to the manufacturer is ideal for a variety of applications in film, ENG, interviews and event videography.
The RL48 lamp has a unique ring design that includes a universal 38 mm microphone receptacle, which allows it to be mounted on most cameras with this property. The OFFERED LED lighting is equivalent to a 50-watt tungsten lamp, and due to its low weight does not affect the balance of the camera, so it can be used without problem in stabilized systems. Power is supplied by three AA alkaline batteries, which regularly provide 3 continuous hours of operation.
