Video editors need an inexpensive and complete system for monitoring technical parameters of digital audio and video. And no matter how well tuned an image monitor is, editors require reliable technical measures to ensure that the video and audio they are producing is of the highest possible quality. Blackmagic Design presented at NAB 2009 its UltraScope, a system that meets these requirements at a minimum cost.
The combination of software and a PCI Express card of the UltraScope makes available to the user the most important audio and video monitoring factors: RGB/YUV, composite waveform, vector, histogram, eight audio channel measurements, audio phase meter and image view.
Manufacturer Blackmagic Design indicates that UltraScope's technical accuracy makes it an ideal solution for master monitoring and quality control tasks.
