Dalet Digital Media systems showcased during NAB 2006 included the new Dalet OpenMedia Plugin Suite: Dalet OpenMedia Ingest, Dalet OpenMedia Logger and Dalet OpenMedia OnAir. The new suite of modules provides OpenMedia users with ingest and playout capabilities within the OpenMedia system.
The new ingest option allows you to create openMedia queues and line reservations within the video server. When the original material is recorded using the OpenMedia Dalet ingestion module, a low-resolution copy with frame accuracy is automatically created, allowing reporters to retrieve original material over the network. Information about the media stored on the central server, including metadata, is synchronized and forwarded to the OpenMedia Dalet using the MOS protocol.
Dalet OpenMedia Logger: OpenMedia users can simultaneously access the same original materials.
The DaletPlus OnAir module offers a reliable, open-standard approach to automated, live support for video, text, and caption playout. The OpenMedia OnAir Dalet communicates with the OpenMedia host system using the MOS protocol. The integration allows Dalet OpenMedia users to send playout instructions as well as retrieve broadcast status information to the eRegie. Dalet OpenMedia OnAir automatically loads the player and communicates the playout sequence to the video server.
