For the first transatlantic broadcast of high definition 3D signals, made during the delivery of the International Award for Excellence to Jeffrey Katzenverg, CEO of DreamWorks Animation SKG at IBC, facilitated technology was used by 3Ality Digital, a Los Angeles-based company. L
The awards, in which Katzenverg was interviewed by Elizabeth Daley, Dean of the School of Motion Picture Arts of the University of Southern California, she was photographed with a multi-camera stereoscopic equipment and packaging for transmission to Amsterdam by the service company Arquiva satellites.
In the Netherlands, at IBC's Big Screen Auditorium, at rai, the 3Ality decoder passed signals from the left eye and right to two other technology providers: the company of Christie projection and the presentation specialists Real D. Attendees had to wear polarized Real D glasses to view the stereoscopic image.
