Sony announced a new generation of HDV production, which includes a new compact camcorder, the HVR-Z5N, and an in-memory recording unit, the HVR-MRC1K.
The camcorder incorporates a fixed G Lens system, Native progressive recording capabilities, increased sensitivity in low light conditions, among other features. Memory recording unit offers a recording option in CompactFlash not only for the new camcorder, but also for all current Sony professional HDV camcorders.
The HVR-Z5N uses the new CMOS 3 ClearVid sensor from 1/3 (0.85 cm) from Sony, enhanced by Exmor technology. With its 45-degree rotated pixel arrangement, the CMOS sensor 3 ClearVid offers enough pixelated surface while maintaining its high resolution. Exmor technology has a unique technique analog to digital conversion in parallel columns and a double noise cancellation, resulting in digital signals high quality and low noise.
Camera filming flexibility increases even more with the addition of a completely new G Lens. This lens offers a 29.5mm wide-angle lens, and an optical zoom 20x, as well as three neutral density filters (1/4, 1/16, 1/64), in addition to focus, zoom and independent diaphragm rings.
The HVR-Z5N also offers native progressive recording 1080/24p along with the usual flexibility to switch between HDV/DVCAM and DV recording (1080/60i, 525/60i). The camcorder can reduce the frequency of materials to switch from HD to SD, and produces the video signals through its i.LINK interface and of other SD output connectors. A HDMI output.
In addition to this new camcorder, Sony also presented the new hybrid memory recorder, the HVR-MRC1K. This allows choose the recording medium (tape or CompactFlash), the format recorded (HD&HD, HD&SD, SD&SD) and the dynamics of work (direct file on tape or input by edition not linear at high speed in CompactFlash).
The unit captures the HDV1080i, DVCAM, or DV output stream that comes from the camera and allows the user to record files HDV/DVCAM/DV on a standard solid-state memory card CompactFlash while simultaneously recording to tape. The recording times on 8 GB and 16 GB CompactFlash cards in HDV, DVCAM and DV format are about 36 and 72 minutes, respectively.
The HVR-Z5N has been specially designed to take advantage of the HVR-MRC1K in-memory recorder, which offers direct connection to the back of the camera and avoids having to use cables. The Unit automatically synchronizes with recording action of the camera.
