Kramer has led a solution to this limitation in distance for video signals of 100 FireWire Mbs (DV) with TP-300FW product. A TP-300FW is capable of converting a FireWire video signal, so that is transmitted more economically over CAT 5 cables to distances up to 300 feet (100 m) to one second TP-300FW than converts back into a FireWire video signal in its format native.
Additionally, the TP-300FWs can
add a system to extend the entire signal range
up to a total of 300 feet (100 m) with each additional TP-300FW
