Mexico. Radio Iteso, the university radio station of Guadalajara, has carried out a high-quality audio transmission from the Guadalajara International Book Fair, using AEQ technology to guarantee a professional sound experience, both for the technical team and for the audience.
This initiative is part of the station's commitment to offer real-time content with studio quality, even from external locations. The audio link was made using the Alio portable codec, which allowed the microphones of the guests and that of the main announcer, Bettina Acevedo, to be connected in the same equipment.
This system makes it possible to capture audio with clarity and fidelity, managing multiple sources in an integrated way and ensuring complete coverage of interviews and presentations on the FIL premises.
As a receiver, the Radio Iteso station used the Venus4+ dual-channel audiocodec, configured to share audio using the Dante protocol. Thanks to this integration, the audio transmitted from the FIL could be received in high quality and distributed to any studio of the station in real time.
This flexible distribution capability allows the technical team to create multi-purpose production scenarios, adapting to different broadcast, mixing and recording needs, without compromising sound quality.
The second channel of the Venus4+ was configured with Smartalk, enabling high-quality contributions from mobile phones. This functionality allowed the participation of remote collaborators and the incorporation of additional interviews, expanding the coverage of the event without depending on the fixed infrastructure.
With this implementation, Radio Iteso demonstrates how the combination of portable audiocodecs and professional broadcasting solutions allows them to bring studio quality to any external event, strengthening its production capacity and consolidating its leadership in coverage of cultural events in real time.
The project was led by Esteban Contreras, technical manager of Radio Iteso, in collaboration with the local distributor Viewhaus and its technical representative, Jaime Cervantes, as well as with Cesar Reyna, manager of the AEQ Mexico office.
