International. MPTS 2026 has announced the first batch of its conference programme, with more than 130 industry experts confirmed ahead of its return to Olympia London on 13 and 14 May. On its tenth anniversary, this year's edition reflects the growing convergence between production, post-production, broadcasting and digital media.
The program will take place in eight rooms and conferences, addressing the main trends shaping the global media and entertainment industry. Topics include the continued transition to cloud-based workflows, the evolution of live production, and the increasing complexity of cross-platform content delivery.
Artificial intelligence will be a central theme. The AI Media Zone returns after its successful debut, exploring how AI is being integrated across the content lifecycle, from creation and production to post-production and distribution, with a focus on practical applications.
The Broadcast Technology Theatre will examine the infrastructure that underpins modern television, including IP-based workflows, remote production and scalable distribution. The Post-Production Theatre will focus on advancements in editing, visual effects and collaborative workflows, while the Audio Theatre will highlight the importance of sound throughout the production process, from capture to immersive formats.
In addition, the SMPTE European Media Technology Conference will move to the fairgrounds in 2026, bringing technical discussions to a wider audience. The program also includes the Center for Creators, which reflects the continued growth of the creator economy and its influence on the broader media landscape.
Among the confirmed speakers in the first batch are representatives from organisations such as the BBC, ITV, Sky, Warner Bros., Banijay and Ofcom.
With more sessions to be announced, MPTS 2026 will provide a platform for industry professionals to explore the technologies, workflows, and ideas shaping the future of media.
