Harmonic Accelerates Streaming and Broadcast Transformation

Harmonic acelera transformación del streaming y broadcast

Latin America. Harmonic will introduce significant enhancements to its video devices and SaaS solutions, highlighting a state-of-the-art media server and new AI-based innovations designed to optimize video workflows and reduce operational costs.

The company's solutions enable broadcasters, streaming platforms and service providers to reduce workflow complexity, generate new revenue and improve the live and on-demand video experience in broadcast and streaming environments.

"At the 2026 NAB Show, Harmonic is showcasing practical, easy-to-implement solutions that help media companies monetize more effectively in an increasingly IP- and AI-driven environment," said Gil Rudge, senior vice president of solutions and sales for the Americas for Harmonic's video business.

He added, "Through our portfolio of video devices, hybrid and SaaS solutions, we enable our customers to minimize total cost of ownership, access more meaningful revenue opportunities, and stay ahead of the curve in an ever-evolving media landscape."

Next Generation of High-Performance Video Devices
At NAB Show 2026, Harmonic will present the next generation of its Spectrum™ X media server, which dramatically simplifies video ingest and playback functions, significantly reducing the total cost per channel for broadcast distribution.

Harmonic's XOS Advanced Media Processor helps broadcasters transition to DTV+ and ATSC 3.0 or migrate from C-band spectrum, offering a comprehensive, simplified and cost-effective solution in a single device. The XOS Media Processor combines advanced playback, premium encoding, DTV+ and ATSC distribution, and can be deployed in headends and on affiliated stations.

Powering streaming and monetization with new solution enhancements
Harmonic drives the evolution of streaming and redefines monetization with key innovations.

Harmonic will introduce its first large-scale deployment of VOS Media Software on Red Hat OpenShift, powering its hybrid streaming solution with centralized management across public and private cloud environments.

It will also showcase the first server-side in-stream advertising deployment by a major U.S. regional sports network. The solution automatically triggers in-stream ads during live matches, increasing monetization without interrupting the viewing experience.

A new internal server-side multi-view solution can now be configured within Harmonic's VOS360 Media SaaS to empower fan engagement. The solution can be combined with in-stream ads to monetize multi-view channels and increase revenue.

Smarter streaming with AI
Harmonic will present a new AI orchestration service at the NAB Show 2026. This service aggregates, orchestrates, maintains, and updates best-in-class AI features, both third-party and first-party. Coordinate AI-based processing for live content, manage redundancy, and synchronize outputs. Thanks to its intuitive user interface, customers can easily configure and schedule AI features to be triggered instantly.

The new service offers a robust, secure and professional-grade solution for broadcasting, which works in conjunction with VOS360 Media SaaS, VOS Media Software, the XOS Media Processor and the next-generation Spectrum X.

Powered by NVIDIA GPU acceleration, Harmonic's AI service also supports the new advanced server-side HD to UHD upscaling, providing superior video quality on 4K displays even when production is limited to Full HD.
