Mercado Play launches premium content rental service

Mercado Play lanza servicio de alquiler de contenido premium

Latin America. Users in Argentina, Mexico and Brazil can access a flexible model within Mercado Play, which allows them to take control of paying for the content they want to watch over a 48-hour period. The payment process is integrated in an agile and secure way through the Mercado Libre and Mercado Pago ecosystems.

In line with this new proposal, Mercado Play's premium rental catalog adds franchises and titles of high recognition globally, such as the complete saga of Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, The Matrix, Superman, among others.

And to celebrate this launch in a context marked by the arrival of the Oscars, the platform incorporates a special discount of 30% in Argentina, 25% Brazil and 20% Mexico for its premium rental catalog, valid from March 9 to 26. The promotion includes the two most nominated films of this 98th edition – Sinners, with a record 16 nominations, and One Battle After the Other, which has 13 – along with more than 15 nominated films throughout the history of the awards, thus reinforcing its commitment to offering content of high interest to users.

With this launch, Mercado Play takes a new step in the evolution of its entertainment proposal, combining free content with a rental option designed for those looking to access premieres, classics and outstanding films in a timely manner, without monthly commitments.

"Our goal is to offer an accessible and flexible alternative, which allows you to enjoy securities of interest without the need to contract multiple platforms and with the ease and security of Mercado Pago."

The incorporation of this service reinforces Mercado Play's commitment to continue growing as a regional entertainment platform, expanding its catalog and diversifying its consumption options, always with a focus on ease of use and the needs of users, with access from Smart TVs, mobile devices and desktop, in a simple and flexible way.

With a presence in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Uruguay, Mercado Play continues to consolidate itself as a space that combines regional reach, content curation and an integrated experience within the Mercado Libre ecosystem.
