Mexico. Blackmagic Week Guadalajara 2026 was held. This technology event brought together cinematographers, camera operators, colorists, content creators, and students for a hands-on experience focused on professional film workflows.
Over the course of three days, participants engaged in hands-on sessions designed to simulate real-world production conditions. These sessions covered complete capture, editing, color correction and completion processes within the Blackmagic Design technology ecosystem.
The event was conceived as a training space that allowed participants to interact directly with film production tools and understand their integration within an end-to-end workflow, from capture to final delivery of content.
The selection of Guadalajara as the venue responds to the growth of the audiovisual ecosystem in western Mexico and the development of initiatives related to film production in the region.
"Guadalajara is an area that has great potential in the field of film production. Numerous companies are choosing to move their productions to this area, and we consider it essential to strengthen the brand's presence in this market," said Víctor Flores, CEO of Flormartz.
Flores emphasized the imperative need for the local industry to access cutting-edge technology and specialized training spaces, in order to raise the technical level of their productions and achieve international quality standards.
End-to-end workflow in real-world production environments
During the development of the event, the participants were actively involved in meticulously designed film sets to simulate a professional film production. To do this, high-end cameras such as the Blackmagic URSA Cine 17K 65 and the Blackmagic PYXIS 6K were used, integrated into the complete Blackmagic Design ecosystem, allowing for an immersive and realistic production experience.
The training sessions included in-depth demonstrations of high-resolution film capture, accurate signal management, efficient material ingestion, and advanced post-production processes within DaVinci Resolve software. This sequence allowed attendees to understand and follow the entire workflow, from the initial image capture to the generation of the final material in professional quality.
"Our main goal was to create a real production experience, where attendees were actively involved in image capture and could observe the end-to-end process until the final material was obtained with the highest quality," explained Mr. Flores, highlighting the importance of hands-on experience in developing technical skills.
Color and finish as technical pillars of film production
The conclusion of the meeting was dedicated to advanced color management, with a specialized session focused on the integration of Dolby Vision within the DaVinci Resolve software.
This session demonstrated how today's productions can optimize their delivery for high dynamic range (HDR) environments and ensure effective cross-platform distribution, reaching a larger audience with the highest visual quality.
The demonstrations made during the session underlined the critical importance of color correction and completion as fundamental elements to ensure visual consistency and cinematic quality in audiovisual content, essential aspects for the success of any production.
Strategic boost to the development of local industry
Blackmagic Week Guadalajara 2026 proved to be a more far-reaching initiative than a simple technology exhibition. The event was configured as a training experience designed to enhance the technical skills of professionals and students in a region that is consolidating itself as an audiovisual hub of national relevance.
Through these types of initiatives, Blackmagic Design reaffirms its commitment to promoting integrated workflows that optimize the capture, post-production and delivery of audiovisual content under international film standards.
