Uruguay. Colour by Mediapro is a studio that offers comprehensive post-production services with branches in Uruguay and Argentina. The company uses Blackmagic Design's DaVinci Resolve Studio for editing, color correction, visual effects (VFX) and audio post-production on film, series, television and advertising projects.
With DaVinci Resolve Studio at the centerpiece of its operations, Colour has achieved a more efficient and flexible workflow and faster project delivery for its clients, including Amazon Prime, Disney+, Netflix and ViX.
Founded in 2014 by Germán Nocella and Daff Schneydher, Colour has been part of Grup Mediapro since 2024 and has received recognition for its artistic quality and innovation. The post-production studio offers tailor-made solutions that combine creativity, cutting-edge technology and a highly experienced team of more than fifteen colorists, mastering engineers, post-production coordinators, editing assistants and technical specialists.
Between fiction projects, documentaries, series and commercials for major streaming platforms, Colour can handle the post-production of seven or more projects simultaneously, all of which are processed in DaVinci Resolve Studio.
"We rely heavily on DaVinci Resolve Studio for its versatility and ability to seamlessly integrate multiple stages of the post-production process into a single platform," said Schneydher.
He added that "It has allowed us to optimize and improve collaboration between our colorists, editors and post-production coordinators, which reduces delivery times and ensures technical consistency between the Montevideo and Buenos Aires venues, as well as compliance with film standards and Internet transmission services (OTT). The fact that all of our artists work on a single platform gives us peace of mind that our deliveries are always of high quality."
To further bolster Colour's operations and efficiency, the studio has several DaVinci Resolve Mini Panel devices, a Blackmagic Videohub 20x20 12G matrix, SmartView 4K monitors, and DeckLink Mini Monitor 4K and DeckLink 8K Pro capture and playback cards.
"Over the past ten years, we have seen Colour evolve from its beginnings as a locally significant independent studio to its merger with Grup Mediapro last year, whereby its infrastructure was integrated and expanded within a global ecosystem. This integration has positioned us as a modern post-production center in Latin America," said Schneydher.
Colour's headquarters are located in Montevideo, Uruguay, in the Reducto audiovisual center, and it also has a complementary color grading room in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This allows us to offer comprehensive services on both sides of the Río de la Plata, with our main infrastructure in Montevideo, which includes five HDR/SDR and online rooms, where mastering and general coordination are carried out, while Buenos Aires has a fully equipped color grading room.
"This is a very exciting time for Colour by Grup Mediapro. The growth we have experienced over the last year and the quality of the projects we have delivered would not have been possible without Blackmagic Design. Our focus on continuous innovation, the highest quality talent and commitment have paid off, and we can't wait to see what the future holds," said Schneydher.
