Chile. Secuoya Chile invested in Ikegami UHK-X600 and UHL-X40 broadcast cameras as a fundamental part of a major modernization of the facilities of its headquarters in the commune of Providencia, Santiago.
The cameras were supplied by Intervideo, a Santiago-based company that provides technology and engineering services for broadcast and related media applications.
With a wide portfolio of clients, Secuoya Chile offers outsourcing services to all operational areas of Canal 13. It also offers support to other production service providers and television networks. Secuoya Chile has 11 studios, seven television control rooms and a fleet of production vehicles. It is part of the media group Secuoya Studios, based in Madrid. The group is primarily focused on generating programs for Spain, Latin America, and the U.S. Hispanic markets.
The project marked a before and after for us, consolidating a strategic technological modernization in Canal 13, says Alejo Fraile, director of Secuoya Chile. The implementation of the Ikegami UHK-X600 cameras provides improved image quality, operational stability, and workflow efficiency. The cameras were chosen after a rigorous technical selection process. The success of the project was based on the close collaboration between Secuoya Chile, Canal 13 and Ikegami/Intervideo, establishing a replicable standard that positions Secuoya as a key partner for future technological transformations in Chile.
"We are very happy to have won this important project, which was carried out after a rigorous and very competitive technical bidding process," adds Carlos Contreras, director of Intervideo. "I want to express my deepest gratitude to Ikegami for his unwavering trust and support, which reaffirms a relationship that celebrates Intervideo's 44th anniversary in Chile. The inclusion of the Ikegami systems in this upgrade marks a significant step for Secuoya Chile and Canal 13 towards a world-class operation."
Designed for broadcast-quality video production and live TV applications, the Ikegami UHK-X600 Full HD cameras are designed to withstand the rigors of mobile and electronic production units, as well as studio operation.
As a complement to the UHK-X600 studio cameras, the Ikegami UHL-X40 cameras will replace existing robotic cameras for Channel 13's news productions. The UHL-X40 is an ultra-compact, box-style UHD camera for applications that require a discrete unit with full transmission quality.
