Colombia. In 2025, Colombian cinema and audiovisual deepened their presence on the main international stages, with sustained participation in festivals, markets and high-level industry spaces. This was reported by Proimágenes Colombia.
National productions and co-productions with Colombian participation had world premieres, international premieres, nominations and awards at events such as Cannes, San Sebastian, Clermont Ferrand, Sundance, Rotterdam, Karlovy Vary, Toronto, Guadalajara, Annecy, IDFA, Tallinn Black Nights and Havana, among many others, confirming the aesthetic, thematic and narrative diversity of the Funcertacolombiano audiovisual.
This international tour was accompanied by an active circulation of talent, projects and companies in training spaces, markets and laboratories, where Colombia strengthened its position as a relevant player in the global audiovisual industry. Programs such as the Bogotá Audiovisual Market – BAM, together with strategic alliances with international festivals and platforms, promoted the development of projects, co-production and the creation of professional networks, while consolidating opportunities for new filmmakers and producers.
Production incentives, through the Colombia Film Fund (FFC) and the Audiovisual Investment Certificates (CINA), continued to be a key driver for the arrival of international productions and the strengthening of the local industry. Series and feature films benefiting from these mechanisms were released in movie theaters and global platforms, boosting the economy of the sector and promoting Colombian technical and creative talent in large-scale productions.
