Latin America. Sony Professional Solutions Latin America ended a 2025 defined by initiatives that strengthened its presence in key sectors such as broadcast, health, education and sports. Beyond presenting new solutions, the company promoted projects that transformed the way professionals and organizations adopt technology throughout the region.
Trendsetting initiatives
Sony took a decisive step forward with the launch of OCELLUS (ASR-CT1), its first markerless camera tracking system, unveiled at the NAB show in Las Vegas. This innovation opens up new possibilities for virtual and augmented reality productions.
Another key new feature was the PXW-Z300 4K XDCAM camcorder, the first to insert digital signatures into video, reinforcing the authenticity of content in an environment where verification is essential. Its AI-powered autofocus makes it an ideal tool for journalists and creators.
Sony also expanded its Cinema Line family with the new FX2 camera and announced the BURANO 2.0 firmware update, cementing its leadership in high-end film productions.
LiveXperience, the regional initiative that was born in Mexico and will expand in 2026
One of the most important milestones of the year was LiveXperience by Sony, an initiative created in Mexico that combines hardware, software and cloud services to demonstrate, in a real environment, how live production is optimized.
Its success in Mexico has prompted Sony to replicate it in several Latin American markets in 2026, making it a strategic pillar to bring solutions such as the M2L-X switcher, studio cameras, robotics and IP workflows to customers throughout the region.
In Argentina, during CAPER Show 2025 Sony exhibited the transition to IP environments with Ci Media Cloud and Nevion Virtuoso, while in Chile the Network Solutions Summit delved into remote and distributed production. In Peru, Sony participated in the XI Lima Film Week with the BURANO camera and collaboration tools in the cloud.
Education Summit, an engine of innovation for the future of education
Education was a central focus for Sony in 2025 thanks to the Education Summit, its most important initiative in the academic sector and the only one of its kind. In its seventh edition, held in Bogotá, the event brought together leading universities such as the Universidad de los Andes and the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.
The Summit was consolidated as a unique space in the region to promote sustainability on university campuses, promote technological adoption and strengthen audiovisual training. More than 20 institutions from Mexico, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia participated in workshops, forums and demonstrations that brought students and teachers closer to tools that enhance their competitiveness.
Solutions for the Medical Industry
In 2025, Sony strengthened its leadership in the healthcare sector with the launch of the LMD-32M1MD miniLED 4K HDR surgical monitor, setting a new standard for medical visual accuracy. During Medical Expo 2025 in Mexico, the company also presented 27" and 43" monitors, medical recorders and PTZ cameras for telemedicine.
As part of its strategic initiatives for the healthcare industry, Sony collaborated with Medical Equipment Specialists® (EMS) to create a unique surgical showroom in the region. This space, which replicates a real operating room, allows doctors and institutions to experience first-hand the quality of Sony surgical monitors and live streaming capabilities using PTZ cameras. The initiative not only drives technology adoption, but also raises training and the quality of hospital care in Mexico and Latin America.
Vívaro and Sony will transform Chilean and Latin American soccer in 2026
One of Sony Professional's most transcendental projects in Latin America was the alliance with Vívaro Video (TVTEL) in Chile. The Chilean Football League adopted Sony Nevion technology and 48 studio cameras. This deployment will allow Chile to become a regional benchmark in remote production, advanced transmission and visual quality from 2026, marking a before and after in Latin American sports.
After a 2025 of expansion and consolidation, Sony is preparing to continue leading innovation in 2026, bringing its initiatives to more professionals and local markets.
